I’ve been experimenting with a new app idea called HeadlineAI. The spark came from something simple: I love reading articles, but I don’t always enjoy the author’s style. A friend once told me he liked the format of how I write more than the content itself. That stuck with me. Everyone consumes differently — some like casual, some formal, some bullet points. Why not let readers choose?
That’s what HeadlineAI is about. The app delivers fresh headlines across Technology, Business, Environment, Health, Science, and Lifestyle. You pick the headline, and instantly an AI generates a full article in your preferred reading style. No bias, no “one-size-fits-all” voice — just content how you want it.
Building the Prototype
I built a full MVP iOS prototype using Replit + OpenAI for the AI layer, Google OAuth for registration, and Stripe for subscriptions. Honestly, the hardest part was wrangling Replit — it’s an amazing “prompt-to-build” tool, but sometimes it takes a few back-and-forths to get things working exactly right. Still, the whole development only took a few hours. That speed shows how powerful today’s AI tools really are.
Why This Matters
Most content today is filtered through an author’s perspective. HeadlineAI flips that model — letting readers consume in their own style. I believe this is the future of content. And as I was prototyping, I realized the same system could be extended further: users could eventually train the app to write in their own voice. That means AI articles unique to you, ready to publish. That’s a future phase I’m excited about.
What’s Next
I’m preparing to launch HeadlineAI on the Apple App Store. My plan is to:
-
Share it on my blog
-
Submit it to app directories
-
Publish a launch article for media outlets
-
Run a simple slide-with-music ad on social media to test paid acquisition
To keep momentum, I’ll reinvest 75% of any revenue directly back into marketing and growth. This is just the start.
I’m curious — would you use an app that lets you pick a headline and instantly read the article in your own favorite style?
