My Timeline Story
I was born and raised in South Louisiana where creativity, curiosity, and entrepreneurship showed up early in my life. I attended Nicholls State University and earned a degree in Health and Wellness. While still a junior in college I launched my first startup. MyWants Inc began in 2007 as a centralized resource hub for teenagers during the rise of social platforms. I raised seed capital, earned media coverage, built a small team, and learned how to navigate early product development. Missteps in managing developers created real technical challenges, but those challenges became the moments that taught me web development, digital marketing, strategic planning, and the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Those lessons became the foundation for my future work.
After graduation I moved to North Louisiana and pivoted MyWants into a small business consulting agency. I leaned on my skills in web development, marketing, and strategy to work with local businesses and creative projects. I helped create and brand Monroe and West Monroe’s first full marathon event. I helped design one of the nation’s first Wingstop catering trailers. I served clients like Trapp’s Restaurant and Fieldhouse Bar and Grill. During this time I was honored with recognition including DeltaBusiness Top 20 Under 40 and the West Monroe Chamber Micro Business Award. My entrepreneurial activity led to deeper community involvement and the development of real operational expertise that would anchor my career for years.
I continued to expand my business experience by acquiring and operating a Horace Mann insurance agency with over seven hundred clients. I handled operations, policy management, customer service, sales, accounting, and market growth. Managing this agency strengthened my leadership, financial acumen, and my ability to build trust with clients and stakeholders at every level. Along the way I continued building websites and marketing projects for businesses which kept my creative and technical skills sharp.
My wife and I eventually moved back to South Louisiana to grow our family. With two young children I decided to pause new business ventures and maintain only a small portfolio of website clients including Dufresne Law, State Title LA, Apex Air, Technical Manifold Services, Rue Billboards, Trio’s Alexandria, and Aquatic Solutions. My primary work became serving as the Director of the Louisiana Action Coalition, where I coordinate statewide leadership meetings, manage communications, coauthor grants, and produce major projects including the annual Culture of Health Summit. This role strengthened my ability to manage teams, collaborate with partners, operate within healthcare systems, and lead complex initiatives with precision.
As my youngest child prepared to enter school I began preparing to relaunch my entrepreneurial work. Around this time I became deeply fascinated with artificial intelligence and how it could transform learning, business operations, and creative expression. I became a power user of ChatGPT and learned how to develop sophisticated prompts, custom GPT models, and AI workflows. I improved my graphic design skills and began experimenting with AI generated images, videos, and hyperreal avatar creation. I realized that AI was not just an interest but the direction my next decade of work would follow.
This led to the launch of Bizer.ai, an AI powered business consultant platform designed to support small businesses with real guidance, automation, and systems. I created an extensive AI Business Guide, a series of AI powered tools built through advanced AI forms, and a new system that converts YouTube videos into structured projects inside a project management platform. Alongside this I began developing BuildBizSystems.com, a WordPress AI services agency that helps small businesses implement real systems powered by AI. My work now focuses on building useful tools, shaping digital experiences, and creating systems that remove complexity for everyday business owners.
Throughout all of this my identity remained the same. I am an entrepreneur, innovator, and lifelong creator who studies how technology can expand human potential. My background spans small business development, healthcare leadership, creative technology, and AI systems. I build tools that turn curiosity into action. I create platforms that make complex ideas simple. And I constantly explore how AI can reshape the way people learn, build, and connect.
My Hometown & French Cajun Culture
I was born and raised in the small town of Cut Off, Louisiana which is South South West of New Orleans. When I tell people I live South of New Orleans, I usually hear, “I didn’t know there was anything South of New Orleans”. So, yes, I basically grew up in the Gulf of Mexico.
Cut Off is part of a string of small towns known to the locals as “Down the Bayou” which is pronounced more like “Down da Baya”. Most people from here have a heavy Cajun accent which is why it’s said that way. Cajuns, aka Acadians, are descendants of French Canadians around Nova Scotia. Acadians were exiled by the British and eventually many migrated to Louisiana. Cajuns have their own unique French dialect. Growing up, we learned words that were normal to us not even knowing and understanding they were French words, but French words that France French people would not even know. Here is a good list of Cajun Slang Words, many of them that we grew up saying.
Hobby
Reefing, Kelsi’s Reef
My biggest hobby at the time is creating and maintaining a saltwater reef tank aquarium. Those who partake in this hobby are “reefing” and we call each other “reefers”.
I’m in the process of building up my current 210-gallon reef tank aquarium. We purchased the tank and stand from a guy in New Orleans. The picture here is right after we moved everything in before we even put the doors on the stand. We used our rocks, fish, and coral from our previous 100-gallon reef tank setup we had when we were living in Calhoun, LA.
I think I enjoy the hobby so much because of its complexity. There is so much to learn about the biology of the animals and the chemistry of the water. All of these little variables can create a stunning reef tank or kill everything in it. Figuring it all out and piecing techniques and equipment to create a healthy tank is very fulfilling.
The goal for our tank is a full and thriving SPS (small polyp stony coral) dominant mixed reef tank.
